'80s Hottie of the Week, Patty Smyth
As timeless perhaps as music is the human fixation on physical attractiveness. Here in this space, then, on a gender-alternating basis (hey, equality is a very important concept), let's take a journey back to the '80s to enjoy the forms of our favorite artists of that period. Our inaugural subject will be the underappreciated singer-songwriter Patty Smyth. Not to be confused with her more well-known brunette quasi-namesake Patti Smith, Smyth burst onto the scene in 1982 with the band Scandal. After two albums and two fairly sizable hits in "Goodbye to You" and "The Warrior", Smyth left the band to pursue a solo career.
You cannot be serious, she's married to tennis legend John McEnroe? Far be it from me to explain the mysteries of love and marriage, but I can tell you one thing for sure: That ball was on the line!
