'80s Hottie of the Week, Vicki Peterson

Sunday April 23, 2006
g05961szrq8.jpg I know, I know. When you consider the hotness quotient of the Bangles, you're supposed to go directly into a treatise on the appeal of lead singer/frontwoman Susannah Hoffs. But while there's certainly nothing questionable about that path, I gravitate far more to the band's guitarist and frequent songwriter, Vicki Peterson.

Like her bandmates as well as many of their contemporaries, Peterson suffered somewhat from questionable '80s fashion and style choices, but she comes off as quite the formidable photogenic dark horse next to the higher-profile Hoffs. Especially in recent years, Peterson's lovely curly locks have become increasingly enticing, and just so I don't disrespect her as a woman and musician, her work with the alt country supergroup Continental Drifters has revealed that her talent continues to improve and evolve with age as well.
