Ready the Exclamation Points: Wham! Reunion Could Be on the Way
Though the world will most likely not set itself afire with anticipation about this, George Michael has publicly expressed the desire to reunite with former bandmate Andrew Ridgeley for a performance this fall. And while the prospect of a Wham! reunion may not bring out frenzied hordes to camp out for tickets, it does create an opportunity to point out that the duo's catalogue is significantly underrated.I mean, feel free to sidestep "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go"; no one will blame you there. But in reality, that may be the only embarrassing tune Michael and Ridgeley recorded together. If you don't believe me, give a fresh listen to "Everything She Wants", "I'm Your Man", and, especially, "Freedom". That last tune is far superior to Michael's solo song of the same name, and I'm sure Ridgeley would like to think he had just a little bit to do with that.

I’m sorry, but Freedom superior to Freedom ‘90? Have you seen the video? Have you listened to the song? It’s one of, if not the, best songs he put out in his solo career. He and Ridgeley had a good thing going, I can’t think of a single Wham! song that’s “far superior” to anything on GM’s first two solo records.
Oh and don’t forget the slow-dance break-in tune, “Careless Whisper.” How exciting!
I’m not sure why, but for some reason, I thought Andrew Ridgeley died in the late ’80s of a cocaine overdose. Makes you wonder what I was doing in the late ’80s. (Kidding, of course… I wasn’t even a teenager yet in the late ’80s).
