VH1 Set to Cut Loose Next Week with Gargantuan, Comprehensive Countdown of Top '80s Songs

Well, at least this will be a change of pace. Instead of complaining about VH1's dearth of music-related programming, I can now wallow in an inferiority complex when I watch the channel's presentation next week of its Top 100 Greatest Songs of the '80s. And I thought I was accomplishing something with my relatively frequent Top 10 lists. But in all honesty, I'm glad the network is putting its Music First slogan to proper use, to no small degree because it's good fodder for blogging.

I won't reveal the makeup of the list, though there may be versions of it floating around on the Internet if you care to search. But since I can't vouch for their accuracy, I say we just wait and check out the list as it's rolled out in five installments starting Monday from 9PM-11PM and continuing Tuesday through Thursday for hour-long segments each night starting at 10.
