King of Pop Michael Jackson Dead at 50, News Seems Unbelievable

Thursday June 25, 2009
michaeljacksonessential.jpg This space should probably just be left blank to signify the gaping hole in the floor created by my jaw's drop when I heard the news this evening of Michael Jackson's death from apparent cardiac arrest. Not to mention the massive hole that's now left in the middle of the entertainment world. Still, there will be no shortage of things said and written in the coming days about the amazing career and life of Michael Jackson.

Some of it will no doubt be laced with lurid streaks if not downright disrespect. But all I can think of to say right now is simply that I can't believe this particular King (just like the One before) is dead. Take comfort, however, in the fact that Jackson's mesmerizing output of entertainment, especially from the decade we fixate on here, will always be with us. That and - of course - the singer will surely be sighted at convenience stores (if he hasn't already) for the duration of at least the next 20 years. Adieu, MJ. Nope, still can't believe it.

You’re so right! He will always be with us, just like Elvis.. Not to compare those two, of course, but they are both the biggest stars in different generations! Can’t believe it either.. Rest In Peace Michael, we’ll miss your voice and magnificent dancing!

I’m 35 and have adored Michael Jackson since “Thriller” came out. I’ve never once believed he did anything crude or wrong to children or anyone else. He was always a very handsome man and when he decided to change his nose etc. I always wished people would just leave him alone about it because it was his choice and he still remained a handsome man. From all I’ve read and know he was just a sweet, loving human being. But you’ll always have those IGNORANT people who have to say bad things about other people to make themselves feel better. Rest in Peace Michael, you’ll always be in my heart and your music will live on forever.
