Former Soft Boys frontman Robyn Hitchcock turned out to be a wonderful ambassador for early alternative rock, even if his legend has never quite equaled the majesty of his musical output. "Airscape" is a particularly standout track from Element of Light, Hitchcock's second album release with the Egyptians in 1986. Always influenced heavily by psychedelic rock, the British Invasion and punk rock, Hitchcock released a great deal of quality jangle pop during the late '80s, a style of rock music not necessarily all that common from British artists. Ultimately, this is just a lovely tune, the kind you must rush out and legally procure if you're lucky enough to hear it on (satellite) radio.
