Survivor - Profile of '80s Arena Rockers Survivor
One of the decade's premier power rock bands with a soft spot for love ballads, Survivor was a major arena rock draw and hitmaker for several consistent years before falling away in the face of the much glitzier hair metal ascendancy. Still, the group's brand of no-frills pop/rock is the kind of accessible, pleasant music that never entirely goes out of style. As an odd sort of proof, the band was the subject of a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek Starbuck's TV commercial in 2004.
